Vital Dietary Changes (Part 7)

How and what you eat can improve performance and prevent injury.

  • Eat slowly to improve digestion.
  • Eat foods in whole forms as much as possible—whole foods, as provided by nature (either cooked or raw). Raw vegetables are full of natural antioxidants that protect tissues.
  • Stop eating refined carbohydrate—these create inflammation, stress the endocrine system and cause nutrient depletion.
  • Eat raw foods with every meal. The best raw foods are salads.
  • Absolutely avoid hydrogenated oils and trans fats; they can lead to inflammation and injury.
